At Barker & Hood, we're thrilled to announce the donation of 30,000 grow kits to Lee Connelly, better known as the Skinny Jean Gardener. Lee is a prominent advocate for children's gardening education, and this donation is part of our ongoing commitment to giving back to the community and inspiring the next generation to embrace the joy of gardening.
Lee Connelly, whose work includes appearances on CBBC’s Blue Peter, hosting his popular podcast, and collaborating with Jamie Oliver’s Food Tube channel, has long been a champion for introducing children and families to gardening. Through his Skinny Jean Gardener brand and the School Gardening Success initiative, Lee works tirelessly to bring hands-on gardening experiences to schools and communities across the UK.
The 30,000 grow kits, which were initially at risk of being discarded, will now be distributed to schools, community groups, and families across the UK. These kits offer a unique opportunity for people of all ages to start growing their own plants, develop valuable life skills, and connect with the natural world.
Lee’s dedication to teaching children about sustainability and the environment aligns closely with our values at Barker & Hood. By supporting his work, we aim to play our part in fostering a more sustainable and engaged future for families and communities.
We’re incredibly proud to support this initiative and excited to see the positive impact these kits will have.
